Developed by CiDRA, SMARThatch is an automated hatch system designed for ready-mix concrete trucks. With this rollout, Blue Dot Readi-Mix is now the only ready-mix supplier in North and South Carolina with a fleet fully integrated with SMARThatch technology. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to safety, innovation, and dependable service for our customers.

What Is SMARThatch?   

SMARThatch® is an in-transit system that provides continuous, real-time monitoring from batch plant to pour, enabling precise tracking of air content, temperature, drum status, water additions, and hydraulic pressure. The system also delivers accurate measurement of remaining concrete volume in the drum, enabling reuse and repurposing of returned material—reducing waste and improving sustainability outcomes

The SMARThatch® platform is fully integrated with the ticketing system utilized by Blue Dot, ensuring that comprehensive and accurate quality control records are generated for every load. Additionally, integration with Blue Dot’s fleet management software provides Blue Dot with enhanced visibility and control over dispatch and delivery operations, allowing for optimized truck scheduling, fleet tracking, and delivery planning. This ensures that customers consistently receive product on time and within specification.
